1818 Dec Letter Dated: 1818, Dec 19; Richard White, Ship: Duke of Portland, Year: 1807, Trade or Calling: Prisoner; Newcastle NSW AUS; Original Remarks: On list of prisoners sent to Newcastle per 'Lady Nelson'. Richard White, Died 21 Jan 1820 at Sydney NSW , aged 50 Buried 22 Jan 1820 at Sydney Burial registered at St Philip's. Arrived per ship Duke of Portland
At Hertford Assizes, Simon Clarke, for horse stealing; Thomas Berry, for sheep-stealing; John Smith, for house-breaking; Richard White, for uttering base coin (he having been before convicted of the same offence at Middlesex, which renders the last a capital offence); and Thomas Thompson, for a rape: were severally found guilty, and received sentence of death. The Learned Judge told Berry and Thompson, that they must expect to receive no mercy. Northampton Mercury, 26 July 1806.
