Thomas White was convicted on 12 Aug 1831 of the manslaughter of his sister Mary's husband, Thomas Pilbeam. The assault took place in a field at Heathfield, East Sussex, England on 01 Aug 1831, when White attacked Pilbeam with a large wooden weapon or stick and bludgeoned him. Pilbeam died of the injuries to his head on 09 Aug. East Sussex Coroners Records [ASSI 94/2104].
