John Whitmore was listed as 40 years old on arrival. John was 5'6¾" tall, fair ruddy complexion, brown hair, hazel eyes. Occupation: Fisherman and Pilot Colonial Secretary Index: WHITMORE, John. Per "Batavia", 1818 1821: Servant to Joseph Bigge, coachman to Macquarie. Petition for mitigation of sentence (Fiche 3211; 4/1863 p.99) Married Sarah Chapman, free settler per 'Cornwall' 1839 (the daughter of Thomas Chapman and Mary Ann Chapman, free settlers per 'Cornwall' 1839. Sarah born 1829 and died 5/9/1903 at Rouse Hill. Children: 1846: Mary Ann 1852: Elizabeth 1855: Louisa 1860: John 1862: Rachel 1864: Robert 1866: Hannah Amelia.
