Family connections for Henry (Wicks) are: WICKS Henry (Weekes/Wicks) son of James (Wicks) & Charlotte (???) was born in 1812 at Southwark London & baptised there on 10 5 1812. He was a shoemaker for 2years & tailor for 2years. He was convicted of picking a pocket & stealing a handkerchief at Old Bailey on 10 9 1829, sentenced to 7years, held at London Gaol Delivery & arrived in NSW as a convict on 12 5 1830 after a voyage of 5months on NITHSDALE, where he was assigned to John (Brown) at Bathurst. He was issued his Ticket of Leave 34/979 on 31 3 1834 for Bathurst & his Certificate of Freedom 36/1236 on 28 11 1836. He is noted to have arrived in Bathurst before 1842. He became a bootmaker farmer at Campbells River & married Jane (Fitzpatrick) on 9 5 1842 at RC Bathurst. He changed his name to Weekes before 1845. He was noted to be alive in Bathurst in 1884. [Some details taken from this Website] Jane (Fitzpatrick) daughter of James (Fitzpatrick) & Ann (Harper) was born in 1818 at Moreton Bay (or maybe Ireland). Sometime after 1864 they separated. She died on 21 5 1875 at Native Dog Creek & was buried at Rockley. Henry (Weekes/Wicks) & Jane (Fitzpatrick) produced 11children: 1.William (Weekes/Wicks) was born on 27 3 1843 at Daveys Creek. 2.John (Weekes/Wicks) was born on 31 3 1844 at Daveys Creek. 3.Henry (Weekes) was born 6 1 1845 at Daveys Creek & baptised on 15 4 1845 at Bathurst. He became a farmer & publican. In 1874-5 he was on the West Macquarie Electoral roll as a leaseholder at Campbells River. He married Honora (Murphy) on 13 2 1878?. He moved to Tanners Mount Ploughmans Creek Orange (1899) before moving to Sydney in 1908. He died on 13 8 1921 age76 at Marrickville & was buried at Waverley. ..Honora (Murphy) was born in 1846 at Glenbeigh Kerry county Ireland. She arrived in Australia with her parents assisted in 1853 on TALAVERA & in September of that year at Bathurst. After the family moved to Sydney in 1908 she became the Publican of the family. My maternal great great grandfather. Henry changed his surname to WEEKES by the time his third child was born. There is no record of his death. The last record of him was as informant for his son George’s death near Bathurst in 1884
