He was 5 feet 6 inches tall, pale complexion, with light brown hair and hazel eyes. He had 3 small pox marks on his back of his right hand. His ticket of leave records his native place as Sheffield and his trade as Woolcomber. As a convict he worked on farm(s) in the Morpeth district until granted his ticket of leave on 3 September 1832.
