Thomas Wilcox was 16 years old on arrival. Place of Birth: Newton. Thomas was 5'0½" tall, protestant, illiterate. Father: William Mother: Mary Brothers: William, Henry, James, John. Sisters: Harriett, Sarah, lEliza, Ann - all at native place. 26/3/1850: TOL 20/10/1851: Free Certificate 10/5/1854: Married Jane Needham at St. Marys Church, Franklin, Huon River, Tas. Children: 5/10/1857: Thomas 13/8/1859: Female 3/5/1862: Henry 26/2/1864: John 5/3/1868: Female 16/11/1874: Rose Harriett 13/5/1904 The Mercury, Hobart: Golden Wedding - a correspondent writes: — At Franklin on the 10th inst. a golden wedding was celebrated. Mr. Thomas Wilcox of Farnham, Kent, England, aged 78, and Jane Wilcox, nee Needham, of Westminster, London, aged 71, were married at St John's Anglican Church on May 10, 1854, by the Rev. Mr. Crooke. The golden wedding was celebrated in the public schoolroom at North Franklin which was well filled with relatives and friends who assembled and united in their congratulations. Numerous presents were contributed to the aged couple who looked well and happy. There was an abundant spread, and several speeches were made. Mr. Wilcox returned thanks in a few neat and appropriate words, which terminated a very happy evening. 8/5/1908: Thomas Wilcox died at Franklin, Tasmania.
