Hulk Report: Orderly Transported to Van Diemen's Land (Tasmania) on the 'Hindostan', arriving 19/01/1841. Aged 16yrs; single; 5'1 1/2"; labourer; Protestant; can read; fair complexion; dk brown hair; brown eyes. Native Place: Nottingham Father & uncle have also been transported. 2yrs Probation period, in Colony. Various assignments (inc. Coal Mines, Tamar River, Morven - now Evandale, Swan Port, Tunbridge, Longford) & notes of misconduct. 11/07/1848: Sentence extended 12 months. 29/09/1851: Ticket of Leave 05/09/1856: Certificate of Freedom, at Westbury.
