William was described as having dark hair grey eyes oval face dark complexion stout appearance, one tooth... He was categorised as an expiree; admitted to Mt Eliza Depot in 1882 & died at Mt Eliza Depot in 1886 age66.

William was born about 1820. He may have been a relative of James (Chapman) who was tried for the same offence in the same place, travelled on the same ship. He was a single labourer age30 5'4" dark hair gray eyes oval face dark complexion stout with a tattoo? on upper arm when convicted for sheep stealing. On his arrival in 1854 he received his Ticket of Leave & in 1856 or 1859 he received his Conditional Pardon.
