Only William Easter on the QLD BDM died 18 March 1905 in Brisbane (Reg. No. 1905/B/5469), no parents recorded Brisbane City Council Cemetery Search: William Easter date of service 18 March 1905, Burial Toowong Cemetery, Location 2-31-22
He died in Brisbane Hospital and is buried in Toowong Cemetery.
Cascades (the distillery, and a timber mill and ship building). William made his way to the goldfields of New South Wales and married 17 year old immigrant Emily Tattersall in Mudgee. He had four children from 1962 to 1868. in the 1870s he divorced snd married Mary Boyle and had more children. After serving his sentence, William moved to Victoria and then Guntawang, NSW. He absconded for unknown reasons to Brisbane, Qld where he died and was buried in a paupers grave.
William could read and write a little and had lost one of his front teeth. Father: John Mother: Sophia Brother: Henry Sisters: Margaret and Elizabeth. 19/12/1853 The Courier Hobart: ESCAPEd CONVICTS.-William Easter was brought before the Court on suspicion of being a run-away prisoner of the Crown from Van Diemen's Land. He was arrested at the place of entertainment known as the "Royal Exchange Singing Room," and in the first instance declared his innocence in the most positive manner. He subsequently admitted himself to he a William Spealey alias Hall, sent out from Liverpool under a ten years transportation sentence. On the application of the detective officer, he was remanded until Wednesday, to afford time for the production of further evidence. He was found in Victoria and was remanded back to VDL 24/12/1853. 15/1/1855: Absconded again. 1860/1: Married Emily Tattersall at Mudgee and had 4 children. Emily was born in 1843 and died in 1912. She apparently had been married to John Payne and had 5 children (she would have been very young when she started). In 1884 she married Edward Brown. No death date for William.
