Wilts Lent Assizes Wm. Jeffery was convicted of stealing 14 fowls, the property of Mr Henry Ford of South Newnton, on the night of the 2nd of Feb., and was sentenced to 7 years transportation. There was another indictment against him for stealing eleven fowls on the same night, the property of William Tabor, of the same place, but it was thought unnecessary to try him upon it. Devizes and Wiltshire Gazette, 12 March 1829
