1/4/1800 Chester Courant Cheshire, England: ASSIZE INTELLIGENCE NOTTINGHAM. William Poxon, Wm. Spibye, and James Smith, for stealing nineteen dozen cotton stockings out of a bleach ground, were ordered to be transported for fourteen years. No ships found for W. Spibye or James Smith. Colonial Secretary Papers: POXON, William. Per "Earl Cornwallis", 1801 1800 Oct 13: On list of convicts on board the "Earl Cornwallis" (Reel 6028; 2/8283 p.28) William Poxam was hung on the 4th April 1807. 5/4/1807 Sydney Gazette: COURT OF CRIMINAL JURISDICTION. On Monday the Court met for the trial of offenders; when William Poxam was found guilty of sheep stealing — Death.
