1832, 15 March: On arrival in NSW, William STANEBURY [sic] was listed as 22 (born 1809), having been tried and convicted at the Surrey Quarter Sessions, on 4 July 1831, for robbing a shop. He was single, Protestant, a paper hanger and painter who could read and write. He had no previous convictions. He was 5'5¾" with a fair complexion, dark brown hair and grey eyes (see NSW, Australia, Convict Indents, 1788-1842; Annotated Printed Indentures 1832).
