Bill WILLIAMS was convicted at Devon 23/07/1843 for arson - setting fire to a stack. Life sentence. Transported to Van Diemen's Land (Tasmania) on the 'Mount Stuart Elphinstone' arriving 17/06/1845. Aged 14 years; single man; labourer; 4'11 1/2"; Protestant; can read. Native place: Wing, Buckinghamshire. No relatives listed on Indent record. Station Gang: Point Puer, (institution for young convicts near Port Arthur penal settlement). Other assignments in Hobart and the Huon area. Ticket of Leave 10/06/1856. Conditional Pardon 20/04/1858.
