OCCUPATION: Cabinetmaker and carpenter, according to his VDL Conduct Record. On arrival in 1832, he was listed as married with one child. His wife Mary Ann was at his native place of Bristol (see https://stors.tas.gov.au/CON31-1-46$init=CON31-1-46p167). 1845, March: Charles WILLIAMS was granted a Conditional Pardon.
CRIME: Riotously destroying a house - convicted along with 11 others of this offence. All were sentenced to transportation for life. All were admitted to the prison hulk Justitia at Woolwich on 27 January 1832. He was sent from the hulk on 10 February for transportation. Charles WILLIAMS was 23, born 1810, according to the hulk record (see UK, Prison Hulk Registers and Letter Books, 1802-1849).
