Conditional Pardon Granted. John Williams, Navarino. The Britannia and Trade Advocate, 27 March 1851.




Navarino Indent: https://libraries.tas.gov.au/Digital/CON14-1-16/CON14-1-16P239 and John Williams, Tried Dublin, 10 August 1842, 15 years. Age 22, protestant, can read and write, Single. Offence: burglary, pr Joseph Watson. And stg a chronometer, mariners Compass & some scissors. John Carey & James Smith for same offence. Surgeons’ Report, Good. Trade, Glazier house painter. Native place: ? St George. Remarks: M Elizabeth; 2 B, John, James. 1 S, Susannah.  BURGLARY. John Williams, John Carey, and James Smyth were indicted for a burglary and robbery in the house of Mr. Samuel Watson, at Finglass, and for stealing variety of other valuable property therefrom; and Smyth was also indicted for receiving a gold seal, the property of Mr Watson, knowing same to have been stolen.  Guilty.—To be transported for 15 years.  Dublin Evening Packet, 11 August 1842.
