Trial; 19 February 1800 The Proceedings of the Old Bailey 211. JOHN THOMAS and JOHN WILLIAMS were indicted for breaking and entering the dwelling-house of Samuel Halliday , about the hour of twelve in the night of the 11th of February , with intent the goods therein being, to steal and burglariously stealing, three brass candlesticks, value 4s. a patent roasting jack, value 5s. a large bible, value 20s. a boy's coat, value 4s. two muslin handkerchiefs, value 2s. two cotton handkerchiefs, value 1s. a man's hat, value 2s. a handtowel, value 6d. a table-cloth, value 2s. a copper pot, value 5s. a brass kettle, value 2s. a plated milk-pot, value 2s. and two silver tea-spoons, value 2s. the property of the said Samuel ................. Family connections for John (Williams) may be. WILLIAMS John (Williams) arrived in NSW as a convict on 12 6 1801 after a voyage of 10months on EARL CORNWALLIS. He had been tried at probably Old Bailey, sentenced to Life & held at Middlesex Gaol Delivery. He is recorded as dying on 27 11 1814 age43 & buried at St Johns CofE Parramatta. [These details taken from this Website] [Noted an Eleanor (Williams) was born about 1767. She was tried with 1other (John (Williams alias Schofield) for breaking entering & stealing, on 23 5 1798, linen shifts etc of Michael (Sullivan) at Old Bailey, sentenced to 7years for stealing only, held at Middlesex Gaol Delivery & arrived in NSW as a convict on 18 7 1798 after a voyage of 6.5months on BRITANNIA (not 1803 on HMS GLATTON as notated in Smees records). She had a first relationship with Samuel (Perkins). She married secondly James (Turner his second (2of3) marriage) emancipist on 13 8 1810 at St Matthews CofE Windsor. She is recorded in 1814 as off stores wife of J (Turner) with 3children. She died in 1828 age61 mother of maybe 5children. [Some details taken from this Website]
