In Colony: various assignments of service work and some notes of misconduct. Ticket of Leave 18 Nov 1856 Free Certificate 6 Aug 1857 Five children, two of whom came with her - Emily aged 13yrs & Eliza (Elizabeth) 7yrs. Old children of female convicts were placed at St. Johns Orphanage. Emily admitted on 3/6/1851 and discharged 6/1/1853 to Francis John Johnston, Hobart (usually for some kind of service work). Eliza or Elizabeth was also admitted on 3/6/1851 and discharged to her mother (now on a Ticket of Leave and permitted to have her child with her) on 5/6/1856. Sister - Emily, at native place.




Mary Williams was convicted at Dublin on 6 Aug 1850 for stealing two books. Previous convictions. 7 yr sentence. Transported to Van Diemen's Land (Tasmania) on the ship 'Blackfrair' arriving 1851. Married woman - 5 children (2 on board with her) Aged 40yrs; housemaid; 4'11"; Roman Catholic.
