Family details from petition file "elderly parents, wife and 5 young children will suffer disgrace, robbery committed 3 years ago but prisoner only arrested this July even though lived nearby all that time, only evidence was that stolen goods found in his possession". Petitions from his wife Ann Wilson and from 25 others.

Prison was tried on two counts of house-breaking from 1830 and found guilty on both, though he had escaped arrest at the time.
