George Wilson died at Liverpool on the 28 Sep 1819 as a result of a snake bite which occurred in the District of Appin, he was taken to Liverpool Hospital where the assistant surgeon was known for having much success treating snakebite, unfortunately the surgeon had died a few days earlier and George died, he was buried in the Earliest burial ground at Liverpool which is now Apex Park
