1813 Marriage - Job Wilson of the parish of St John Parramatta and Elizabeth Rodgers were married in this church by banns this 19th day of November 1813 by Samuel Marsden. Job and Elizabeth Rogers signed the register in the presence of Thomas Waymark who signed the register and Mary Minnekin who made her X mark. Elizabeth was just 13 years, Job was 25 years old. In July 1814 Job Wilson was one of a group of convicts selected by
William Cox to make the road across the Blue Mountains following the explored route by Blaxland, Wentworth and Lawson. Cox was commissioned by Governor Macquarie to undertake this important work.

This was a remarkable achievement; commenced on the 18th July 1814 in the middle of winter and completed on the 14th January 1815. In April 1815 Governor and Mrs Macquarie followed the road from Sydney to Bathurst. Job Wilson was pardoned by Macquarie on the 1st January 1816 as a reward for his efforts on the road making. He was granted 50 acres of land at Kurrajong Heights which he called"Rocklands". It was located on the other side of what is now Bell’s Line of Road from today's North Kurrajong Public School.
