The 1825 Journey. The ship Mariner, Captain Fotherley, arrived from Ireland with female prisoners, on Sunday evening. She left the Cove of Cork, the 12th of March, and brings 112 female prisoners, having lost only one on the passage. A few passengers also came per this opportunity. Tried at the Old Bailey, 13 Sept 1815. 785. JOHN WILSON and WILLIAM BLACKSTONE were indicted for feloniously forging and counterfeiting one note purporting to be a note of the Governour and Company of the Bank of England, for the payment of 1 l . To which indictment, they severally pleaded NOT GUILTY. 786. JOHN WILSON and WILLIAM BLACKSTONE were again indicted, for feloniously having disposed of, and putting away, as true, one false and counterfeit note, purporting to be a note of the Governor and Company of the Bank of England, for the payment of 1 l. they well knowing the same to be false and counterfeit; and also for having in their possession at the same time, two other similar false and counterfeit notes . To this indictment the prisoners severally pleaded GUILTY . Transported for Fourteen Years.
