PROBLEM OF TWO JOHN WILSONS (ONCE AGAIN) In deciding which John Wilson to profile, I have relied heavily on the information gathered by jaynewilson24, who compiled the well-sourced Wilson Family Tree on Ancestry.com.au. She appears as a direct descendant of John Wilson, so I'm assigning some extra credibility to insider family knowledge.
PROBLEM OF TWO JOHN WILSONS (AGAIN) Please ignore the previously posted physical description of John Wilson. I am now convinced that this refers to the other JW. I believe the actual description of the "correct" JW is: 5'6" tall, fresh complexion, red hair, hazel eyes, letters MWTW on lower right arm, scar on left eyebrow. Source for description. PROBLEM OF TWO JOHN WILSONS Two John Wilsons were convicted at the Lancaster Quarter Sessions. One was convicted on 21 Oct 1829 and sentenced to transportation for 14 years. The other was convicted on 24 Oct 1831 and sentenced to transportation for 7 years. Both traveled on the convict ship Clyde I (2) that arrived in Port Jackson, NSW on 27 August 1832. Because of the similarities in detail it is often difficult, sometimes impossible to be sure which John Wilson a particular source refers to. Hence, there will be errors in my linking of sources to the subject of this Convict Record.
