Thomas WILSON was convicted at Lancaster, England on 21 April 1828 for stealing wearing apparel. Previously convicted. 7 yr transportation sentence. Sent to Van Diemen's Land (Tasmania) per the ship 'Bussorah Merchant' arriving 18 Jan 1830. (Note: There were 2 persons named Thomas Wilson on this voyage. This Thomas is Identifier 1.) Single man. Place of birth: Eccles, nr Manchester. Father - Thomas Wilson (Snr) - a shoemaker on Oxford Rd., Manchester, England. (ref. Convict details) VDL: 1831: Indecent behaviour - 100 lashes. 1833: Absent without leave - 2 mths imprisonment with hard labour (Launceston Chain Gang). 1834: Disorderly conduct. 1 mth imprisonment with hard labour (Launceston) 30 Dec 1837: Free Certificate issued.
