Thomas suffered from rheumatism. He was treated by the ship's docotor during the voyage to Australia.
Thomas Wilson was transported for 7 years on the Mary Anne. He was convicted of stealing handkerchiefs. He received his Ticket of Leave Pardon in 1840. Permission was given to marry Johanna 'Rawley' (Rowley)who 'came free' with her parents William & Elizabeth Rowley & siblings on board the Orontes in 1838. Thomas was a widower according to the Marriage Certificate.His occupation at the time was 'Constable' at Maitland. Thomas & Johanna had 18 children but most died at an early age. Johanna died in 1880 at Moree and Thomas died about 1892 at Inverell NSW.
