Andrew joined the Guildford at Simon's Town on 8 August 1820. He and three others were taken from Cape Town to Simon's Town to be placed on the ship on that day. The other three were: Edward Woodhart (soldier 54th Regt); Conraad de Haan (tailor); and Peter Lennon (soldier African Corp). These four eventually disembarked at Hobart on 3 Nov 1820, after the ship initially stopped at Sydney. Other than 6 convicts, not including the above four, none of the 194 convicts aboard got off in Sydney.
