He was tried at Surrey Quarter Sessions, sentenced to 7years & arrived in NSW as a convict on 24 4 1817 after a voyage of 4months on SHIPLEY. He was a labourer when he married firstly Elizabeth (Hasten/ings her third marriage) on 18 8 1819 at St Phillips CofE Sydney. He was Free by Servitude by 1821. [Some details taken from this Website] Elizabeth (Hasten/ings) was born about 1781. She was committed for breaking & entering house of ??? (Bredgar), in April 1798, & stealing printed cotton etc & tried for breaking & entering house of Stephen (East), in July 1798, & stealing printed cotton etc at Kent Assizes, sentenced to 7years & arrived in NSW as a convict on 15 4 1800 after a voyage of 6months on SPEEDY. She was recorded in July 1801 living off stores at Toongabbie with M (Pierce). She had a first relationship (1of3) with William (Pearce/Easton his first relationship). She had a second (2of3) relationship with George (Howe his second (2of3) relationship) & produced 5children. She was recorded in 1806 as concubine with 4children. She was Free by Servitude by 1809. She died on 28 5 1828 age43/7 mother of 8known children & was buried at St Phillips CofE Sydney.
