Convicted Date: 7 April 1851 Offence: Larceny, before convicted of felony 32/195 "Convict was taken ill 21st December on board this ship at sea and Died on board 25th December 1852" as per Medical Journal - more details on record of illness - Nature of Disease: Erysipelas -(Streptococcus bacteria infection on face) * possible previous sentence dated 6 April 1840, Larceny, York, West Riding, aged 19, born about 1821

Whilst on way to Western Australia Winterbottom became ill mid December 1852 before passing away.
