Transported for Housebreaking. Gaol report Character… bad sullen disposition, belongs to a notorious gang of thieves, connexions very bad. Hulk report good. Single. Stated this offence, Housebreaking & stealing 7/. prosecutor Josh. Chardlow, Stoke, single, Surgeon’s report, Good. His record shows he served as a constable until he was dismissed, after a number of examples of misbehaviour. Aug 14 1838, Eating seven eggs, the property of Me Cameron, from a hen’s nest in a hay loft – fined and admonished. Dec 24 1838, Going out Kangarooing on sunday – 2 months added to his period of service in the Police. July 14 1839. Misconduct in proposing to constable Williams when on duty in the bush on 26th June last to kill a sheep, conceal it & charge Robt Driver with a felony. There being 2 other charges against the prisoner for misconduct as a constable, he is sentenced to 12 months hard laboour in chains and recommd. to be dismissed the police & not to be taken into it again.
