Convicted 6.3.1824 for stealing bacon and a bag from premises of A White of Frankley. Sentenced to death and later reprieved to ‘Transported for Life’. Source 1824 Newspapers. Conditional Pardon 1.2.1843 Pardon No. 44/125. Description: 5 foot 2 inches, brown complex, hazel eyes. Assigned to Mr John T Campbell, Bringelly. Source 1828 Convict Muster. Married at the age of 65 to Elizabeth Caunt (age abt 16 assisted immigrant) 16.7.1855 St Paul’s Cobbity, Narellan, NSW in the presence of Rev Haskell. 5 children: Samuel, John, Elizabeth, Mary Ann, George and Maria Ellen. Robert died aged 75, three weeks after birth of daughter Maria Ellen.
