Thomas Wood was transported to New South Wales in 1826 on the Cawdry.

Absconded prisoners.
Woods Thos. Cawdry, Soldier, 35, Gloucester, 5 feet 3½, grey eyes, brown hair, sallow and pock-pitted comp. from No. 3 Iron Gang.
Sydney Gazette, 30 Dec 1826.

He was sent to Moreton Bay penal settlement following a colonial conviction.

Moreton Bay Convict Record:
Thomas Wood, ship, Caudry, tried at Madras, 9 July 1823, sentence 14 years. Trade- soldier.  Colonial sentence, tried at Paramatta Gen. Sessions, 23 Dec 1826, Offence – running away from his Gang & robbery. Sentence 3 years. To Sydney 28 Feb 1833.  Sentenced 3 years in addition, 17 Mar 1828. Run 20 Feb 1828, ret’d 27 Feb 1828. Run 10 July 1829, ret’d 29 July 1829. Run 20 Nov 1829, ret’d 10 Dec 1829. Run 27 Sept 1831, ret’d 3 Jan 1832.
