Convict Permission to Marry. Israel Woodgate, per Norfolk (1) age 32, 14 years, T of L; and Margaret Masterson, per Palambam, age 26, 7 years, Bond. Suffolk Assizes. … James Woodgate, for stealing a grey mare pony, the property of John Newby, of Wenhaston ; and Geo. Woodgate, Stephen Baldry, Thos. Barnaby Benjamin Hazelop, and Israel Woodgate, for breaking into the dwellinghouse of Stephen Capon, of Hinton, and stealing six sacks of white clover seed, with the sacks; were all capitally convicted, and sentence of death recorded. Cambridge Chronicle, 13 Aug 1824.
Israel and brother James and cousin George were all sentenced to death and all transported on the Norfolk. 1832: TOL Sydney - Bricklayer 1833: Married Margaret Masterton. They had at least 5 children. 1836: TOL Sydney - Brickmaker 20/8/1838: COF 11/7/1862: Death Notice: Israel Woodgate of the White Horse Inn, George Street, aged 61 years.
