Family connections for James (Woodham) are: WOODHAM Henry (Woodham) married Sarah (Brimley) & produced at least 2children: 1.James (Woodham) was born about 1763 at Marshfield Gloucetershire. He was tried w/his brother Edward for Highway robbery of gold coins etc, on 11 5 1796 at Sudbury, of Robert (Weaver) & also William (Fowler) at Gloucester Assizes on 16 8 1786, sentenced to death commuted to Life, held on hulk CERES from 2 4 1787 at Woolwich Thames & Langstone Harbour Portsmouth & arrived in NSW as a convict on 26 6 1790 after a voyage of 5months on Fleet ship SURPRIZE; he was described as an incorrigible villain. She was tried at Tipperary co.Ireland in March 1795, sentenced to 7years & arrived in NSW as a convict on 11 2 1796 after a harrowing voyage of 6months on the same MARQUIS CORNWALLIS; & sent to Parramatta Womens Factory. She had a first relationship on board ship with the ships Captain Michael (Hogan), [Smees records show her name as (Regan)]), perhaps-fits in timewise-as a result of the 'punishment in other ways' described in the voyage log (which is summarised in her entry on this Website). He had a first relationship with Elizabeth (Stratford) of Marshfield Gloucestershire & was examined at Exeter Quarter Sessions for failing to support their child & held at Gloucester Castle Gaol in January 1785 & Lawfords Gate Brideswell nr Bristol pending payment. He was tried w/his brother James for Highway robbery of gold coins etc, on 11 5 1796 at Sudbury, of Robert (Weaver) & also William (Fowler) at Gloucester Assizes on 16 8 1786, sentenced to death commuted to Life, held on hulk CERES from 2 4 1787 at Woolwich Thames & Langstone Harbour Portsmouth & arrived in NSW as a convict on 26 6 1790 after a voyage of 5months on Fleet ship SURPRIZE; he was described as an incorrigible villain. He is recorded in 1806 with his Ticket of Leave employed on Edward (Robinson)s farm at Sydney. He is recorded in 1814 as landholder at Windsor & is said to have married secondly Jane (Carr)-no mention in Smees records. In July 1816 he was at Richmond. In 1822 he is recorded as leaseholder on 11acres at Windsor. She may have had a relationship with Edward (Woodham). She married perhaps secondly William (Holds) a soldier on 2 6 1813 at St Johns CofE Parramatta. The 1806 Muster recorded James Woodham "Surprize (1)", still a prisoner, indented to J Nicholls. The burial register of Saint Philip's, Sydney, recorded the burial of James Woodham on 6 December 1808.
