Family connections for John (Woodward) are: WOODWARD John (Woodward) was born about 1759. He was tried at Leicester Assizes, sentenced to 7years & arrived in NSW as a convict on 18 5 1798 after a voyage of 8months on BARWELL. He claims to have been a butcher from about 1797. He had a relationship with his housekeeper Sarah (Dorset her fourth relationship. In 1822 he requested a portion of land for he & his son James. He died in January or on 25/7 6 1825 age66 as an emancipist & was buried at St Phillips CofE Sydney. [Some details taken from this Website] Sarah (Dorset) was born about 1766. She had a first disastrous relationship (1of4) with unknown. She was tried with Mary (Dorset a sister?) for stealing, on 4 10 1788, a cloth coat of Andrew (Davidson) at probably Old Bailey, sentenced to 7years, held at London Gaol Delivery & arrived in NSW as a convict on 3 6 1790 after a voyage of 12months on Fleet ship LADY JULIANA also-a ship with 228females who easily entertained the whole crew & also sailors at Teneriffe stopover. She had a second (2of4) relationship with Edward (Powell) his first relationship) on board the ship & produced 1child. She was sent to Norfolk Island about August 1790 with her child. She had a third relationship (3of4) with Robert (Watson). She returned to Sydney in February 1794 with her 2children. She is recorded as housekeeper to John (Woodward). She was Free by Servitude by 1803. She is described as very infirm in 1822. She died on 11 3 1838 age72 mother of 7known children.
