William Woollams was transported on the Marion, departing 30th Oct 1851 and arriving 30th Jan 1852 with 281 passengers.
Built 1834 at Calcutta. Wood ship of 684 Tons. The 1847/48 voyage sent to Van Diemen's Land (Tasmania) BUT also went on to Port Phillip Bay, Victoria where 300 exiles disembarked. (The newspaper source says they were from Millbank, Pentonville & Parkhurst prisons.)

Housebreaking but sentenced with the lesser charge of receiving goods. he had been convicted in 1846 and confined for 3 months and in 1850 confined for 8 months he had an Aka of JAVAN
His occupation states a Piano Maker but at 17 years old would believe an apprentice. his height stated 68.5 inches He received the lesser charge of receiving stolen goods...10 years transportation I also read he was granted permission to Marry plus year return on 30.12.1853
