27 Mar 1824: Jane Woolley (aged 20) and Mary Lewis (aged 22) at Warwick Lent Assizes were sentenced to transportation for life for stealing from the person of Thomas Landon a promissory note for '10l. &c.' (10 pounds) [Birmingham Gazette 5 April 1824] Convict indent 24 January 1825: housemaid and cook, native place Birmingham, hazel eyes, black hair, fresh complexion, single and she was well. In 1828 she obtained permission to marry Richard Humpage (Malabar 1 1819 7 years) and they married at St James Sydney [56/1828 V182856 149 HUMPAGE RICHARD WOOLEY JANE CJ also 730/1828 V1828730 12, 4296/1828 V18284296 3B] In the 1828 census she is listed as the housekeeper for her husband Richard Humpage. He is listed as a tailor at Pitt Street. In 1830 she was convicted of stealing, admitted to Sydney Gaol, sentenced to 3rd class for 12 months with labour Death 1834: HUMPAGE JANE 2018/1834 V18342018 18 AGE 29
