George Worrall, Tried Salop Assizes, 10 Aug 1811, Life. ---------------------------------------------------------------  Shrewsbury Assizes.— … J. Worrall, for breaking open a house at Sheffnall, and stealing money thereout; …  received sentence of death, but the three latter was reprieved. Cheltenham Chronicle, 29 Aug 1811.
The Humble Petition of George Worell Respectfully Sheweth That Petitioner came to the Colony in the Transport Ship earl Spencer in the year 1813, under sentence of transportation for Life. That Petitioner on his arrival was assigned to Mr Faultless with whom and his personal master Mr Dight he had remained until the present period, and during the above servitude, his conduct has been such as to merit he trusts the approbation of his said masters. That Petitioner is a man of industrious habits and of an honest Character, he therefore most humbly prays that yur Excellency will be graciously pleased to grant him the indulgence of a Ticket of Leave. And petitioner will ever pray, Geo. Worell Petitioner is a sober, industrious and honest man. (Signed,) Henry Fulton, J.P. This is to certify to His Excellency the Governor that Petitioner is to the best of our belief, sober honest and industrious. Windsor, 3 Dec 1818. (Signed) Wm. Cox, J.P; and 2 other signatories.
