Richard Worthing was the son of Richard Worthing and Ellen Edwards. He was transported for ‘possession of a forged bank note' and was 21 years old on arrival. 1826: working in Corporal Griffith’s road party. 1827: No 10 Road Gang near Penrith. 7/8/1834: COF 13/11/1834: Married Hannah Wright (Louisa 1827) at Parramatta and they had 7? Children. 3/2/1881: Richard died aged 87 at Parramatta is is buried with Hannah. The following is from their headstone: Sacred to the memory of HANNAH The beloved wife of RICHARD WORTHING who died 13th November 1858 Aged 57 years This lonely heart is at rest Its beating and aching are oer This quiet immovable breast is marred by affliction no more also RICHARD WORTHING husband of the above who died Feb 3 1881 Aged 81 years Blessed are the dead that die in the Lord also ALBERT CECIL ALLEN CRANE grandson of the above who died Sep 9 1881 Aged 1 year 8 months and 12 days Thy voice is now silent the heart be now cold when thy smile and welcome off us of old We may...there is silence And dwell...the memory of joys that have (?) day
