Convict Notes
Woodbridge, Wednesday June 28. Lydia Wright, 20, (Single-woman, Glemham), pleaded guilty to two indictments, the first charging her with having stolen two umbrellas, a cloak, a shawl, some bread, cheese, butter, a piece of pork, and some cakes, the property of John Gilbert; the second, charging her with having stolen a bonnet, a pocket-handkerchief, some soap, and flour, the property of Charles Cook. Both the prosecutors reside at Great Glemham. The prisoner also pleaded guilty The prisoner also pleaded guilty to a previous conviction at Ipswich Sessions, and was sentenced to be transported for seven years. Ipswich Journal, 1 July 1843. -------------------------------------------------- The following convicts were removed from the County Gaol in this town by Mr. Johnson and assistants, to the Penitentiary, Millbank, viz., William George Simpson, William Burrows, Thomas Garrod, Isaac Johnson alias Wobeley, George Folkard alias Woods, and James Brundish, for life. James Howard, Horace Collins, Samuel Collins and William Gould, for 15 years. John Gould, for 14 years. Amelia Rayner and Mary Whittaker, for 10 years, Thomas Scales, and Lydia Wright, for 7 years.
