City Court. Thursday-before Justice Burrough. Richard Wright (aged 18), butcher, was found guilty of stealing a sheep, the property of Mr. Thos. Newton, butcher of Lincoln, on the 12th of February, and Judgement of death was recorded. "Stamford Mercury" 20th March 1829 Page 3 - Col. 2 After appeal this was commuted to fourteen years transportation to the Colonies .
