James Friend was returning from Groton to Edwardstone, the place of his residence, he was way-laid by two men of the names of Wright and Whymark, who attacked him in a pasture ground, near Edwardstone Grove, robbed him of his watch and some silver and beat him in a cruel manner. Mr, F. knowing their persons, the villains were soon apprehended, and have since been committed for the offence. Bury and Norwich Post, 15 April 1829. Committed to Bury Gaol. — Thomas Wright and Benjamin Whymark, (by the Rev. F. Creswell) charged on the oath of James Friend, with having on the night of the 6th inst. in Edwardstone feloniously robbed him of a silver watch. Bury and Norwich Post, 15 April 1829.
