NEWSPAPER report of the trial: 20 October, 1849: From the Cambridge Independent Press, p4: "Stealing a Hat... William Wright, alias Smith (33), labourer, was charged with stealing a hat and waistcoat, the property of Joseph Dunmore, at Kimbolton."
