NEWSPAPER report of trial: 16 January, 1850: From the Glasgow Chronicle, p1: "GLASGOW JUSTICIARY COURT ... George Whitton and William Wright, pleaded not guilty to breaking into a pigeon-house, in Albion Street, Paisley, and stealing therefrom twenty pigeons on 31st August last.
