14/8/1875 Stamford Mercury Lincolnshire, England: Stamford, Friday, Aug. 14 Samuel Meredith and William Wright, for a robbery and assault, were severally convicted and received sentence of death. Wm. Byan, Jos. Hateley, Sarah Smith, Samuel Meredith, and Wm. Wright (the two latter on account of their youth), were reprieved before the Judge left the town, and the rest left for execution. Samuel Meredith and William Wright arrived on the 'Canada'.
