The 'Margaret' was the last convict ship to transport female prisoners to New South Wales. Another voyage to Van Diemen's Land in 1843. Irish Convict Database, by Peter Mayberry. Catherine Wynne, age on arrival, 21, per Margaret (3) 1840, Tried 1840, Roscommon, 15 years for stealing money. DOB, 1819, native place, Roscommon. Trade, kitchen maid. Single. Mother Margaret Wynne & sister Mary Wynn all arrived per same ship. -------------------------------------------------------------------- Margaret Wynne, Mary Wynne, Catherine Wynne and Bridget McCurrod, (mother and three daughters,) and Pat Callely, found guilty of robbing John Casey, in Boyle, in November last, were sentenced to be transported for 15 years at Strokestown Sessions.
