Subsequent crime. James YATES was found guilty of the murder on 24 July 1850 of John Mensforth (1798-1850), retired soldier and shepherd, at Skillogallee Creek in the Clare Valley South Australia. James Yates was hanged on 5 Sept 1850 at Adelaide Gaol in South Australia
