Tried and convicted at the Hereford Assizes on 4th August 1818 for theft, sentenced to transportation for 7 years. Left England on 27th January 1819. Ship:- the 'Baring' sailed with 300 male convicts on board of which 5 died during the voyage. Arrived 26th Jun 1819. He was described as:- age 16, five feet 4 inches tall, fair ruddy complexion, born hair, hazel eyes. Hereford Journal Wednesday 12th August1818 p. 3 Seven Years' Transportation... T. Yeomans for stealing various articles from the work-shop of Mr. Lloyde, of Avernbury... In 1829 he had a liason with convict Letitia O'Hara ('Edward' 1829) that resulted in the birth of a daughter, Harriet, in 1830. Thomas went on to marry Letitia's older sister, Isabella, also a convict ('Brothers' 1827) in 1830, they had 7 children between 1832-1846.
