George Young was born 28 December 1802 in Birmingham, England, and died 05 October 1879 in Melbourne. He married (1) Charlotte Fox 07 August 1826 in Northfolk plain, Launceston, Tasmania, daughter of John Fox and Sarah Smith. He married (2) Elizabeth Jones 23 November 1836. Children of George Young and Charlotte Fox are: i. George Young, born 12 May 1828 in Launceston, Van Diemans Land; died 29 September 1916 in Williamstown, Victoria ii. Mary Ann Young, born 06 June 1830 in Launceston,Tasmania,. iii. John Young, born 13 March 1831 in Launceston, Tasmania,; died 07 January 1910 in Wickliffe,Victoria.
