John Young, late of High Felling, pitman, charged with stealing a quantity of files and tools, the property of the Owners of Felling Colliery : he also stands further charged with stealing two hens and one cock; and John Young and Mary Young late of the same place, charged with receiving the same, knowing them to have been stolen. Durham Chronicle, 22 Feb 1833. JOHN YOUNG, aged 20, pleaded guilty to three indictments, one charging him with stealing a Quantity of tools the property of the owners of Felling colliery; another with stealing some poultry the property of James Harker, of the High Felling; and the third with stealing a quantity of tools the property of Joseph Fawcett, of the High Felling, and was ordered to be transported for 14 years. WILLIAM YOUNG, aged 62,. and MARY YOUNG, aged 56, father and mother of John Young, were indicted for receiving the above property, and acquitted. Durham Chronicle, 8 Mar 1833.
