Family connections for John (Young) are: YOUNG John (Young) was apparantly born about 1768. He was tried at Sussex Assizes, sentenced to 7years & arrived in NSW on 18 5 1798 after a voyage of 8.5months on BARWELL. He had a relationship with Jane (Appleton her first (1of4) relationship) <1803 (marriage not shown in Smees records). He died on 23 10 1824 age56 at Parramatta & was buried at St Johns CofE Parramatta. [Some details taken from this Website-where 2John (Youngs) have entries-the other was born about 1741] Jane Ann (Appleton alias Mary (Way)) was born about 1782. She was tried for stealing linen, on 16 1 1801, at Reading Quarter Sessions Berkshire, sentenced to 7years & arrived in NSW on 14 12 1801 after a voyage of 7.5months on Fleet ship NILE. She had a second (2of4) relationship with James (Gannon/Gammon) <1805 in Sydney & produced 3children. She was Free by Servitude by 1811. She married thirdly (3of4) James/John (Gabbage) emancipist baker on 1 6 1810 at St Phillips CofE Sydney & produced 2children. She married fourthly William (Chandler his first marriage) stone mason emancipist age55 on 23 1 1815 at St Phillips CofE Sydney & produced 3children. She is recorded in 1828 Free by Servitude with her family at Cumberland St Sydney. She died about 1845 age63 mother of maybe 10children. >>>(It seems that Jane (Appleton)s second & third relationships are with the same person.) .. [Some details taken from this Website-which suggests she had a child before meeting (Young)] John (Young) & Jane (Appleton) produced 1child: 1.James Robert (Young) was born on 17 10 1803 at Sydney & baptised on 29 3 1807 age3 w/halfbrother John at St Phillips CofE Sydney. It may be he, a currier, who married Mary (Roberts) on 18 3 1824 at St Phillips CofE Sydney. He was recorded as a parish clerk in 1827 & 1830. ..Mary (Roberts) was born on 4 7 1805 (Ref:'People...' has 4 8 1805) & baptised on 1 8 1805 on Norfolk Island. She left Norfolk Island with her parents in April 1810. She was described in 1814 as on stores with her parents, possibly in Sydney. ..Details of Mary (Roberts)s family are given in entry for Sarah (Wisse INDISPENSIBLE 1796) on this Website. ..James (Young) & Mary (Roberts) produced at least 3children: ..1.George (Young) was born on 14 12 1824 & baptised on 9 1 1825 at St James CofE Sydney. ..2.Emaline Layton (Young) was born on 22 9 1827 at Elizabeth St Sydney & baptised on 25 12 1827 at St James CofE Sydney. ..3.Jane Elizabeth (Young) was born on 29 11 1829 at Castlereagh St Sydney & baptised on 6 1 1830 at St James CofE Sydney.
