He married Mary Lucy (Platt her first marriage) in 1841 in Scotland. He was a sawyer mason who travelled to Australia as Bounty with his family on INDIA which sank then GRINDLEY, arriving on 22 10 1841 then Bathurst in 1844 from Melbourne Victoria. He died on 14 10 1855 age37 at Bathurst & was buried at CofE Bathurst.
